Student Ambassador Program
Make a difference in your community. 🌟 Help spread awareness.  🌟Become a voice for children facing hunger.

why this program matters

Many children in our community struggle with food insecurity—often silently. As a Student Ambassador, you’ll help change that by raising awareness and connecting others to Backpack Society’s mission.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • Educating others about hunger in our community

  • Inspiring action through events and social media (optional)

  • Helping ensure no child goes without food

Program Goals

  • Empower high school students through community service

  • Increase awareness of food insecurity

  • Build a network of young advocates

  • Earn 20+ hours of service

  • Ambassadors are eligible for the June M. Everett Community Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements

  • Open to all high school students (grades 9–12, as of Fall '25)

  • Interest in community service and advocacy

  • Ability to attend two-hour training session

  • Attend at least three local events

  • Support Backpack Society on social media (optional)

What You’ll Learn

All ambassadors receive training on:

  • Backpack Society’s mission & operations

  • Understanding food insecurity

  • Advocacy, public speaking & marketing an organization

  • Event planning basics

  • How to use social media to make a difference

  • Held at Backpack Society - 213 W County Line Rd, Highlands Ranch, CO

📅 Important Dates

  • Applications Due: May 20, 2025

  • Training: May 29th OR June 9th from 9am - 12pm

  • Event Season: June 2025 – February 2026

Parent/guardian Information & Consent

Parental/Guardian approval is required for participation and social media involvement. Students under 18 must have both forms below signed to participate.

This is a safe, supported opportunity that empowers students to serve while learning more about their community.
